Tatiana Kaplun
The silhouette that does not argue with the body but explains it. The bodice sits close, the skirt opens downward in one calm line.
The A-line is called universal, and here the word is honest. It neither emphasises the hips nor hides them; it gives a vertical, so the eye travels from the shoulders down without stopping. Short and tall brides both choose it — only the skirt length and waistline change.
At the fitting, watch one thing: where the skirt begins to open. The higher that line, the longer the legs read and the freer the waist; the lower it sits, the more defined the waist becomes. Five centimetres changes the whole dress — and that is exactly what the atelier adjusts.
