Mermaid wedding dresses

The most demanding and the most expressive cut. It follows the body to the hip and opens below the knee — a line visible from the last row.

The mermaid forgives nothing approximate: it holds on fit, not on volume of fabric. In return it gives more than any other silhouette — where the A-line speaks calmly, this line speaks aloud.

Two questions at the fitting. First, how you sit down: in a narrow skirt that is a skill of its own, better rehearsed in the salon than at the reception. Second, where the skirt opens. Higher means an easier stride; below the knee means a more dramatic line. Your dress lives between those two answers.
